Commissioned in 1956, it has an installed capacity of 180 MW, making it the largest of the ten hydroelectric power stations on the Franco-German Rhine. The power station is operated by EDF, as part of the Unité de production Est. It was definitively shut down in 2020 and is currently in the pre-dismantling phase. The decree that will allow the actual dismantling operations to begin is expected in 2026.
